A Great Light from Heaven

And despite the clear teaching in the prophets the people in Jerusalem didn’t recognize Jesus, condemned him and buried him. However God raised him from the dead as he had said, and thus forgiveness of sins is proclaimed in Jesus. Paul ends with a warning against scoffing against this message as those who scoff will perish.

Acts 14:8-18: Paul and Barnabas go to Lystra and heal a man. The people decide that Zeus and Hermes have visited their city and Paul and Barnabas must persuade them to stop from offering sacrifices to them. So Paul speaks to them of turning from the vain things and to the living God.
